Social and Environmental Contribution
Social Contribution
We are actively working on controlling the communicable disease, malaria. Malaria is one of the world's three most serious communicable diseases, together with HIV/Aids and tuberculosis (TB). According to a World Health Organization (WHO) report, about 300 million people are currently suffering malaria in the world, and about one million infants under five years old die every year. Most of the malaria-stricken countries are poor tropical countries that receive support from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM), the World Bank, the Red Cross, and the Japanese government.
Summit Agro International is participating in the ROLL BACK MALARIA campaign driven by WHO, through the development and supply of high performance materials (impregnated insecticide mosquito nets, long lasting repellents, etc.) to many countries.

Environment
We are also working hard to realize environment-friendly plant protection by promoting next-generation crop protection products with low environmental impact, such as our products based on pheromone technology.
This technology is designed to inhibit pheromone-mediated attraction and communication between males and females of pest insects, disrupt their mating, and thereby suppress the birth of their offspring. The technology has already been used in France for several years mainly for apples, and is widely known among fruit farmers in the country as an effective biological agricultural technique. Pheromone technology products are actively being developed and used in Spain, Turkey, Israel, and Mexico for fruits, and in Egypt, Pakistan, and Brazil for cotton.
