Corporate Policy

Summit Agro International carries out trading in the global crop protection product, environmental health product and pet care product markets under, and based on a common understanding with, Sumitomo Corporation, and implements the global strategy.

The value chain of the entire Sumitomo Corporation Group is divided into upstream, midstream and downstream stages, and every effort is made to strengthen and expand each of the stages to maximize overall business results.

Sumitomo Corporation undertakes upstream operations, and purchases products developed by its group companies and makes investments. Summit Agro International is responsible for midstream operations, and develops products and sells these own products, as well as other products manufactured by other Japanese and foreign companies, to the global market.

For downstream operations, Sumitomo Corporation's operating companies and joint ventures in each country—our sister companies—cultivate end users' markets.

Priority Measures

  • Product development meeting the needs of each market
  • Increase revenue by providing higher value-added trading services such as processing and inventory operations
  • Secure and nurture human resources (recruitment of new graduates and mid-career workers, assignment of younger workers to important positions, utilization of senior workforce)
  • Improve quality of operations (compliance, greater operational efficiency, etc.)
